07 Mar 2013 —  Fred’s Announces February 2013 Comps Down 1.5%

Fred's reported net sales of USD 159.2 million for the four weeks ended March 2, 2013, as compared to USD 159 million for the same period in 2012.

• Comparable store sales (comps) decreased 1.5% as compared with a decrease of 0.7% in the same period last year.
• During the month, Fred's opened one new store and pharmacy.

As March 2, 2013, Fred's operated 713 discount general merchandise stores, including 21 franchised stores in the United States.
