Walmex has revealed plans to expand its Hortifruti fruit and vegetable plant in El Salvador, which will supply more than 90 stores in Central America. The share of local produce in stores will rise from 60% to 70%.

  • The USD450,000 investment will result in the creation of 90 associate jobs and over 100 indirect jobs, and support 400 active suppliers.
  • Earlier, Walmart El Salvador's agricultural division invested USD360,000 in renovating this plant.
