Casino’s Brazilian subsidiary GPA is venturing into the zones traditionally dominated by unorganized retail by trialing a new location-based concept that will use spaces in office buildings, corporate headquarters and districts with a high concentration of corporate condos to expand its urban convenience banner Minuto Pão de Açúcar.

The strategically located outlets will have modified interiors and will offer an assortment of around 2000 items ranging from pantry replacement products to hot and cold snacks, beverages and entrees. The retailer has incorporated a cafeteria space where typical food and drinks, quick snacks and desserts will be served based on the time of the day. The new concept will also have beverage-dedicated corners from ‘Adega’.
