Best Buy's newest Connected World concept store will open on July 22, 2011 in Richmond, IN.  The 30,000 square foot store is the first of the concept stores in the region, and will offer the same products as that of traditional Best Buy big box stores, but with additional focus on customer demonstrations in how to use and connect different technologies in living in the connected world.  The building was built with environmentally friendly materials and has skylights that can provide the store with natural illumination.  Currently, the store has 65 employees but is still hiring.

The smaller size is in line with Best Buy's goal of decreasing average store size to approximately 35,000 square feet from its current average of approximately 39.000 square feet.
